I am one of the writers for this blog! My goal is to help inspire and inform women on how to wear, buy and pair Free People clothes with vintage clothes! 

In the photo above I am wearing a beautiful free people dress with a vintage hat. The same hat maker as the Queen of England! 

I love shopping fun unique stores, to find the best deals and the rarest items. I want to share my special finds with the world. I want to create out lite for my readers where you can see creative ways to wear vintage and modern clothes. 

Simple tips and tricks can boost your wardrobe to seem like you completely got a whole new set of clothes. The key is figuring out what looks good on your body and what makes you feel the most confident.

INTRODUCTION TO ME 💗

I am a UW Madison graduate. I have a BS degree in Biology, with an emphasis in Stem cell research and genetics, but even through I have this love for science, I have always had a passion for fashion. I am studying to become a doctor, and a lot of people think that science nerds don't have a fashion sense.

FREE PEOPLE needs to be modeled to see all its features

My daughter is the model below. She is wearing a free people dress that on the hanger looks , well rather inspiring and could eaasly be passed up if I just posted it on the hanger. This is why I take so much time and effort to use real models to show how the clothes look on the body. Below we have a dynamic pose that is fun and striking , and took allot of attempts to get it just right. Granted it does not really the dress, but you definitely realize that there is allot of fabric on this dress!

As you can see in this picture the dress has deep pockets, in my opinion an element that greatly influences the value of any dress. The dress is very light weight and fluid , seen as the wind catches the edge of the very full bottom.

As seen in this photo the back has a large cut out ! This is a feature that FREE PEOPLE uses allot and it is really very fun and sexy! Plus all the lace bras are prefect for such a look .

and here in this lovely photo we get a real scope of just how much fabric there really is in this dress. It truly is wonderful and a real find. The model is tall, 5 9 , the dress is long, but she is in bare feet so for the girlfriend who likes to wear high heals, just is prefect. She is a size small but it fits me , who is a size large, with a 38 inch bust. Another feature of FREE PEOPLE is that the fabric often has spandex or give, a  so it stretch fits many body types, from small to larger.

 As Boston store is closing, sadly, there are less and less venues to find Free People for rural and smaller towns, hence the need to go on line. This is honestly hard in many ways, as the textures and small details are often not shown in the photos on line. That is why I have created this blog, to show more of the details of the clothing and indeed to start a YouTube channel to show the movement of many of their designs. In my store sellingfreepeople on ebay I am taking the extra time to show the photo on a model (my lovely daughters often) with accessories and other FREE PEOPLE items, such as shoes. I often pair the clothes with LUCKY BRAND jewelry and a hat seems to really work well with this brand.

Have recently opened our ebay store that specializes in SELLING FREE PEOPLE! Presently this is the only store on line. The plans are to add estsy back into the mix, selling VINTAGE FP and other items to Funkyfindzonline.

I have listed mostly BUY IT NOW items and a few great sales on auction. Many items such as this purse are highly rare and sold out in stores.  I search high and low for rare and great items like this one, a mini purse with metal beads, prong-set rhinestones and metal elements.

sizing confusion with FREE PEOPLE

Free people clothing is very versatile on one hand but its sizing can be very confusing ! For instance,  as an ex small can fit a women or girl who is larger, even myself, who has a 38 bust, which has been limiting as the rest of me is not so large , it also Free people is nearly always over-sized , roomy free flowing and not what you would expect. For an example I just tried on a fp top that is marked extra small and it fit fine, save it was slightly tight in the bust area, but as I love the top, it is not too uncomfortable to wear. I have the same top in a small and it fits prefect. Now could I wear a medium ? yes! could I wear a large? yes. The large would have a fuller freer look. Now on some tops this is not the case as in an off the shoulder for instance, as it might fall off.

Here is fp charts and I have found that it can hold true , but only for certain items. Dresses , but only some styles, as recently I fit perfectly into a small, bust fit prefect. On other dresses I need a large or size 12. I love this brand and only wear it, but admittedly the sizing has been very difficult to navigate .

The shoe sizing is however fairly dependable, I wear a size 10 and all size 41 have fit me, I have ordered on line and they fit great !

decoding FP labels

Besides all the other confusion that can surround Free people, labels are another mystery and frankly I could not find much about them on line or from the store , so I will do my best to give you my observations. Primary there is the standard small copper tag that most of us look for initially when we  pull back a collar. This seems to have been around for quite some time and it is still used allot.

I have seen many tags that were very elaborate and am assuming that these are largely vintage tags, the tags that incorporated the dress fabric, extra stitching,

This  is one of my favorite of all of free peoples sub labels. For the most part the items are made in India and are cotton, or rayon. They are delicate, feminine and sheer.
